In the times of various advancements and technological progress, electric vehicles are no surprise to humankind. We have all known it was coming and have waited for years for it to be on the roads – and now they are!

With the increase in the price of petroleum and other gases, electric vehicles have already started to boom the automobile industry for being cost effective. However, like any other technological inventions, electric vehicles have their own set of pros and cons. Let us take a look at a few advantages and disadvantages of such a tech-savvy invention.

Advantages:

You don’t have to spend money on fuel ever again! Buying petrol and gas leaves a hole in your pocket with its increasing prices and demand. Electric vehicles are just the right solution to this major concern.

You do not need to run to the petrol bunk or gas station. You can charge the vehicle in a normal household socket too!

Going Green in style! You not only save yourselves from the huge rates of fuel, but also save the environment by not polluting it, yet conveniently traveling from one place to another. That sounds totally cool, isn’t it? Electric vehicles are environmentally friendly.

It has become part of the automobile industry and does not cost a bomb to own one. With technological advancements and newer inventions, electric vehicles are not as expensive as they used to be. Also, you get to choose from a wide range of options too just like a normal car!

Disadvantages:

You might have to be a little extra prepared for long journeys. You might not be able to find a recharge point everywhere and anywhere!

You need to pay electricity bills! Like you know, electricity is not free and therefore, there is some cost to recharging your electric vehicle. Make sure you do your research and invest in the right electric vehicle to not let it reflect on your monthly electricity bills!

Limited range and speed – electric vehicles are not going to have the same speed and pick up as fuel driven vehicles and that’s a fact! However, it is expected to improve with time and more advancements in the particular science.

It is all about the choice you make and what weighs more to you. Any technological invention have their own pros and cons and it is the consumer or the user who identifies whether or not it is user friendly and a success for further advancements.
